The mission of Building Unbroken Inc. is to serve as a hub for the connections of African American women, thus advocating for success not only professionally, but in many other different facets of life. We hope to create long lasting bonds that truly illustrate the idea of “pulling as we climb” to the rest of the world. We hope to also provide a source of overall support to the black woman who may not have a type of support system as well as to the black woman who would like to simply increase the level of support that she may already have.
Meet The Founder
Our founder, Dr. Alexandra Alcorn is a registered pharmacist, published author, and graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana. Throughout her adult life, she has encountered many experiences that come along with being a mother, professional woman, a woman starting over, and more. It is these experiences that have made her realize the importance of a strong support system ESPECIALLY a “sister circle”. There have been so many times that she has been blessed and been able to be a blessing to others simply by being connected to other people, and this is what she is hoping to accomplish on a larger scale through Building Unbroken Inc.
She states, “I prayed for God’s purpose for my life for YEARS, and He made it very clear that that purpose is for me to inspire and help others around me by using the lessons that He has taught and is teaching me in this life. This organization is one way that I believe He has told me to manifest that purpose.”
